How the test is performed

Using miRview™ squamous

MicroRNA extraction
Rosetta Genomics has developed an innovative method to rapidly, robustly, and accurately extract microRNAs from a wide range of sample types. Currently, miRview™ tests can be performed on FFPE samples.

Our ability to extract microRNA from FFPE samples is key to the clinical applicability of our cancer diagnostics.1 Because FFPE samples do not require special storage, they may be held at room temperature and sent for evaluation via standard shipping methods.

MicroRNA evaluation
Once the sample is received by Rosetta Genomics, the microRNA material is extracted and quantitatively evaluated. In the case of miRview™ squamous, a single microRNA biomarker is used to classify NSCLC as squamous or nonsquamous.

In a post-approval validation study, the sensitivity and specificity of the miRview™ squamous assay have been shown to be 100% and 100%, respectively.2
